| Edna Lamberson of Tuckasegee accepts the Eva Adcock Award from Jim Rowell, chairman of Western Carolina University's Mountain Heritage Day, as a part of festival activities on Saturday, Sept. 24. The award was established in 1992 to recognize exceptional and significant service to Mountain Heritage Day by a member of the festival organizing committee. Lamberson served as resource assistant for Mountain Heritage Day for the 2003 and 2004 festivals. “She worked diligently behind the scenes to register and place our crafters, and she saw to it that a thousand Mountain Heritage Day details were addressed,” Rowell said. The award is named in honor of the late Eva Adcock, whose strong leadership and dedication helped make the festival a success from its earliest years. |
