| Above-normal September temperatures made shade trees and free ice water two popular commodities at Western Carolina University's 31 st annual Mountain Heritage Day. The Saturday, Sept. 24, festival drew a crowd that “came early and stayed late,” said festival Chairman Jim Rowell. No exact attendance figures are available, but Rowell said the crowd this year was comparable to last year's festival, which drew about 30,000 people to Western's campus. |
